Writing Copy For Ads II - More On This Skill

/ On : 9/12/2011 11:35:00 PM/ BLOG
I have some more thoughts from my previous article for writing copy for ads. Some of the best thoughts come after you submit your article for review. Well, maybe they come after you review your notes again and decide you want to mention more ideas! This article is filled with some extra points I have learned that should absolutely be discussed. So here we go...
Touching on social media, we all should be familiar with the power of it. It needs to be used in promoting ad copy if you want to have a successful well-rounded online marketing business. I believe in the power of press releases. You can search online for more information on submitting a press release. They can be submitted free or for a small price for greater distribution.
Let me interrupt your thought,...anyone with anything to share in their business can write a press release and drive traffic. You can even Tweet your press release, drive traffic to your press release article and drive leads to your marketing funnel. The proof is thousands of successful online marketers are doing this every day including me. The great thing about the tweet is you are using the least amount of words to drive interest to your press release!
Make sure you construct your message. I can honestly say I am working on this skill myself. What do you want to say to your audience? How will this message benefit your market? What is the out come you are looking for? All of these questions can be addressed by using your story. We all know that we all love a good story. It's what makes us feel connected to one another. I would suggest using a past event to share and generate relatability to your audience. We are all human and we all have struggles that we need to know can be overcome. A good suggestion is to start with "Just the other day" or "For as long as I can remember."
I never knew the power of "ly" words. You will see them through out my articles. My mentor taught me the power of using words such as seriously, certainly, truly and even ridiculously. It is very important to be yourself and to use these words as they relate to you. People will know the difference. My motto is "thou shall not jive thy self". You must write the way you speak or your reader will know something's off. The flow of sound is extremely important to ad copy or copy writing. To check your flow read your material aloud. Better yet, record yourself reading it and play it back. How does it sound? Does it flow? Does it sound like you? It better or the reader will know.
Lastly, study the pros. Invest in the material they suggest or that they mention they have read or use. There is a reason they make the income you want to make. The reason is they are using material that makes them successful through practice. If possible, subscribe to their email distribution list to read and study their content. All the answers to our questions come from quality content!
