Writing SEO Articles To Generate Traffic

/ On : 9/11/2011 11:00:00 AM/ BLOG
Most articles automatically usually have SEO criteria in them - by accident! Simply because they refer to the title and address in some way. However, there is more to writing SEO articles to generate traffic than a haphazard off-chance you will include them correctly.
What SEO Article Writing Isn't
• It is not inserting the specific keyword as often as possible (keyword stuffing)
• It is not focusing on keywords so that they will be an obvious ploy to attract attention - search engines can differentiate this.
What It Is
Well written SEO in articles ensures the writer that the articles will show up in relevant listings for searchers who are looking for information in that topic or niche.
Article writing that utilises good SEO practice is aimed at making your content search engine-friendly, plus be informative and readable material for readers. Strategically salting appropriate key terms and phrases in the body of the article focuses this attention and helps the ranking of the article. In other words it attracts traffic or visitors.
How do you do it?
First of all - have a good idea of what you want to write about - do your research.
If you have gained expertise you will know the right terms and phrases that describe the topic.
Consider what would be the main descriptives of it - these are most likely your best keywords.
Check them with the Google keyword tool - or similar
Jot down the main points of you article
Construct a dynamic title - using the best keyword that describes the article
Then go ahead and write - in the same way you would talk face to face - or conversationally. This way you will preserve the readability of your work. It will be more natural - forget about the percentage of keywords needed at this stage.
Then check
Have you used your main keyword (maximum twice)?
Can you use synonyms or similar phrases as alternatives - and add them in strategically as well.
Keyword density should only be about 1%.
You will be pleasantly surprised that after your first draft how much SEO you have put in - but do check.
If you need to add some more in but feel it makes the flow of the writing appear stilted or out of place - consider using them as sub-headings.
Practice always makes perfect - so at first it will be slow and somewhat tiresome - but as you get more and more into the whole writing thing - a lot of these issues e.g. SEO will come naturally.
